Walworth School District Announces Mr. Phill Klamm Interim District Administrator/Principal for the 2019-2020 School Year

The Walworth Joint School District #1 Board of Education approved the appointment of Mr. Phill Klamm to Interim District Administrator/Principal for the 2019-2020 school year at their December 17, 2018 Board of Education meeting.

Mr. Klamm is currently the Principal of Walworth School. Mr Klamm will replace Dr. Mary Ann Kahl as District Administrator. Dr. Kahl will be retiring at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.  Both have served the District in their current roles since July 2015. The decision to appoint Mr. Klamm was based on several factors including the Board’s confidence with the current administration's leadership and guidance in instruction and the desire to provide consistency with this direction.

Mr. Klamm will take over the duties of the District Administrator as well as continuing to serve as the head of instruction, a duty which is currently assigned to Mr. Klamm in his role as Principal.  Assigning Mr. Klamm to the duties of District Administrator and Principal will be a newer concept for the District and the Board is taking the 2019-2020 school year to assess whether this arrangement is  doable and in the best interest of all concerned. The Board will provide additional assistance to Mr. Klamm for daily operations at the building level and district level during the upcoming interim year. Further details of what that additional assistance will look like will be announced sometime in January or February.
