This book provides such a good message about being a bucket filler in life. Then the children played a fun game where they sorted activities into Bucket Filler or Bucket Dipper buckets. Mrs. Craig gave each student a cute coloring page and a bookmark. We have all enjoyed every special visit of this terrific program throughout the school year! Thank you Mrs. Craig and Dousman Bus Company! #WalworthJ1

Wellness Tip #6 ~ Stay Active at Work Adding some exercise outside of your normal job can help to promote overall wellness both physically and mentally. 🚶♂️🚶♀️ Here are five simple steps to promote taking a walk throughout your day: 1. Take 5 mins from your break time or lunch to get outside for a quick walk even if it’s down the parking lot and back. Allowing yourself this time will help you feel more relaxed and give you a burst of energy. 2. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. 3. Post signs in conference rooms or offices to promote walking or standing meetings. 4. Get a walking group together to support and encourage each other to get up and move. 5. Park farther away when coming into work. Remember every little bit adds up so pick 5-10 mins throughout your day to add not only steps in your life but minutes onto your life! #WellnessWednesday #WalworthJ1

Sunday Staff Spotlight Meet Mrs. Weborg ~ Librarian How long have you worked in the district? What is your background in education? I earned my teaching degree from UW-Eau Claire and my Library Media Specialist license from UW-Whitewater. Where is your hometown? I grew up in Sturgeon Bay, WI, which is in beautiful Door County! My husband grew up just north of Sturgeon Bay, and we met at a summer job just after we both completed collage. Tell us about your family. We have 2 wonderful young ladies. Taylor Grace is a junior at Bigfoot and Chloe is in 8th grade here at Walworth. We also have a dog names Sydney and a cat named Rey. The people in my picture would be my extended family. My parents, my 2 sisters and their families. We enjoy spending a lot of time together. What is your favorite book? I LOVE to read, and often have more than one book going at a time! My favorite book is whatever I’m currently reading! I enjoy reading middle school fiction books to recommend to our students, I enjoy reading picture books out loud to our younger students, and I enjoy reading nonfiction self help, DIY and biographies in the summer for myself. What’s the best thing about working in the district? I love working in a small, caring community. Our staff is amazing, our students are out of this world and I enjoy working just down the street from my home. I love that my girls and I have been able to go to school each day together and I know their classmates. I love that our school is small enough that I know each student here. I love that our students have the opportunity to try out many different areas of interest (music, sports, drama, IDC, forensics…) and feel welcome. Students in larger school districts don’t always have that opportunity. #WalworthSundayStaffSpotlight #WalworthJ1

Health Tip #3 ~ The Benefits of Walking Walking should be continuous and rhythmic. • Swing your arms and stride along at an even rhythmic pace. • Do not stroll along and do not stop unless necessary. • Your foot should hit the ground heel first and roll gradually from heel to toe. • Your breathing will be faster while you walk, but you should still be able to carry on a conversation. 🚶♂️🚶♀️ #WellnessWednesday #WalworthJ1
Spring has blossomed in Ms. Boldger’s Jr. kindergarten class...Introducing “SIMBA”, the baby Lion Head bunny. Our country visits also included the students either being able to try native food from that country or making a project. Our goal is for students to understand themselves and appreciate the diverse backgrounds and experiences of others. Spread acceptance, tolerance and kindness! #WalworthJ1

The absolute LOVE of creating our very own gingerbread baby, brought JOY, ADVENTURE, and a few TEARS. The children in Ms. Boldger's junior kindergarten class had such FUN finding clues where he could be after escaping from the oven. As you can see, he did create some havoc with the staff as well. After much searching, we discovered his letter stating that he went to the North Pole to help Santa. This news was a relief (he didn't get eaten) and brought despair, "But I didn't get to say good-bye!" Our wonderful gingerbread baby did make a few return mystery visits as we found "selfies" of him posing by the beautiful gingerbread houses the kids made with their families! We were certain we would catch him then! He also returned with gingerbread shaped crayons and stockings for each child. Thank you Gingerbread BABY! Now, you and Santa need to rest! #WalworthJ1
