With a full roster of speeches, the Walworth Jt.School District #1 team had a very successful forensics meet in late April vs. eight other schools competing at Williams Bay.
"Our students did a fantastic job," said Linda Wenzel, the elementary school forensics coach at Walworth. "We were the only school out of nine that had a full roster of 30 speeches. Since the other schools didn't fill their rosters, we were allowed to send all 35 speeches to the competition."
Of those speeches, 29 earned a trophy, the top score, and the other six speeches earned a Blue Ribbon.
"Our parents shared many positive comments with us about the experience," added Wenzel. "Jen (Koplitz) and I are very proud of our students."
Next year, the forensics meet will be at Big Foot High School in Walworth.
