The last few weeks at Walworth Jt. School District #1 is filled with activities of all kinds, as a look at the school calendar will prove.
On Wednesday, May 17, from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the seventh- and eighth-grade HOPE Squad will go to Covenant Harbor. Meanwhile, third-grade students will go to the Milwaukee Public Museum from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On Thursday, May 18, from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., the grades 7 and 8 band and vocal spring concert will be held. On Friday, May 19, it will be an early release day at 12:30 p.m. However, from 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m., the seventh- and eighth-grade choir will go to Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Ill.
The band car wash will be Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the school's Turn Around.
On Monday, May 22, the board of education will meet at 6 p.m. On Tuesday, May 23, from 6;30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., there will be a spring band concert for grades 5-6. On Wednesday, May 24, from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Multi-Age Homeroom students will go to the Henry Vilas Zoo. On Thursday, May 25, eighth-grade students will go to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater from 8:45 a.m.-2:15 p.m.
On Friday, May 26, the seventh- and eighth-grade band will attend the Beyond the Notes Festival at the Kalahari Resort. Meanwhile, from 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m., there will be an Art Club party.
While there will be no school on Monday, May 29, students in the grades 6-8 band will perform in the Memorial Day Parade at 9:45 a.m. On Tuesday, May 30, eighth-graders will attend a Career Fair from 8;30 a.m.-10 a.m., while grade 7 students will go to America's Action Territory from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, May 31, it is Wildcat Wednesday at school, with students and staff encouraged to wear Wildcat gear or purple-and-gold clothing.
The school year comes to a close with the end of the fourth quarter on Friday, June 2, with early release at 12:30 p.m. Then, from 7 pm.-9 p.m., eighth-grade graduation will conclude the activities.
