Football Players Huddle with Coach

The Walworth Jt. District #1 flag football A team, consisting of 11 eighth-graders, started its season with a 5-0 record. The Wildcats' B team, comprised of nine fifth through seventh graders, began the season 2-2-1. The teams were to play make-up games Oct. 5 to end the season.

The Wildcats play teams from Fontana, Reek and Williams Bay middle schools.

The Walworth A team recently defeated Fontana in a defensive nail-biter, 8-6. In the first half, Moises' two-point conversion was the deciding factor. Izka stopped Fontana's two-point conversion attempt to aid in the victory.

"Multiple second-half defensive stops held the Fontana Falcons out of the end zone," said Coach Troy Hummel, now in his 24th year of coaching.

The B team had a tie in its first game of the season. In another great defensive game, the Wildcats edged Fontana 7-6 recently.

Recently, the A team beat Reek 27-0 to remain unbeaten. The B team won a thriller after trailing 18-6 at halftime at Reek. Walworth scored twice with less than 3:50 on the clock. Quincy threw a touchdown pass to Ryan with five seconds left in the game for a 20-18 victory.

Coach Lee Knoble-Janney with the B team is in his 14th season.
