The Walworth Jt. School District #1 band program, led by Stacey Zwirlein, will have 10 students attending this year's Harvard Middle Level Honor Festival on Saturday, Feb. 4.
The students will be spending the day at Harvard Middle School, along with seventh- and eighth-grade students nominated from eight other middle schools: Cambridge Lakes, Harvard, Fontana, North Boone, Fox River Grove, Marengo, Genoa Kingston and Hiawatha.
"The students will be forming a band of 130 strong! They will be working with guest conductor Lisa Hatfield from Batavia Schools. They will be working on five pieces with the guest conductor and in small group sectionals during the day," said Zwirlein.
Their hard work will culminate with a concert performance at 3 p.m. It is free to the public. The following Walworth students were nominated: Max H., Juan L., Ta-Kai H., Aidan C., Izka G., Christopher H., Fiore M., Kielyn B., Sophia C. and Christopher C.
