Makerspace: Beginning Woodworking

Makerspace

Beginning Woodworking

Students in grades 3-8 will have the opportunity to learn some basic woodworking skills to make either a cedar birdhouse or a tool box made from pine. In this class, students will learn: shop safety, using a tape measure, using hammer and nails, glueing wood joints and drilling holes. Students will be able to bring their projects home with them at the end of the class.

All safety equipment will be provided included safety glasses, ear protection, and gloves.

Students will not be using any of the saws we have in the Fab Lab to cut their material. All cutting will be handled by Mr. Wilson or Mr. Beauchaine. Many materials will be cut prior to the class beginning. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Wilson at brent.wilson@walworth.k12.wi.us
