3D Laser Cutter

Glowforge

The Glowforge is a desktop 3D Laser Cutter capable of creating precision parts from draftboard (MDF) and thin Plywood. Glowforge uses a beam of light the width of a human hair to cut, engrave, and shape designs from a variety of materials. Participants in this course will design creations of their choice. They will start with a hand-drawn image using a sharpie or a printed clip art picture and their picture will be scanned into the Glowforge. The Glowforge will cut their design into draftboard and they can add color to it using colored sharpies.

Note: Due to the process of design and laser cutting, students may not come home with their project that night. We will have all  projects completed by Friday, January 13th and will be given to the students they are completed. If you would like to see the Glowforge in action, please visit: www.Glowforge.com.
