Mrs. Niemuth's 3rd graders caroled their way to the Walworth Post Office to send their special letters to Santa. The Postmaster was kind enough to send us back with gifts and holiday cheer! 🎅🎄 #WeLoveWalworth #WalworthJ1

Mrs. Hummel's junior kindergarten class had tremendous fun on their Gingerbread Man Adventure! They baked their Gingerbread Man in their little oven and when they returned from music class, they discovered that their Gingerbread Man had escaped! A few crumbs and note were left behind. The note read that the Gingerbread Man went to the gym to play basketball. The class quickly went to the gym, where another note and crumbs were left behind. The note read that the Gingerbread Man went up to IDC. The children were on a mission to find their GIngerbread Man and went right up to IDC. There were more crumbs and another note! The note said the Gingerbread Man was tired and went to the nurses' room to take a nap, so the class rushed to the nurse's room. On the bed was another note a few more crumbs! The note said that the GIngerbread Man was thirsty after his nap and had a chocolate milk! The class went to the milk cooler and found another note and more crumbs! The note said that after his milk, he went to the atrium to have fun at recess. The class went directly to the atrium and searched all around for their Gingerbread Man. McKinley found the Gingerbread Man at the bottom of the slide! Everyone cheered with joy and excitement that their GIngerbread Man was found! They quickly went to their classroom, decorated him with frosting and candy, and enjoyed every tasty bite! Now he could no longer be on the loose in the school! What an amazing adventure! #WalworthJ1

The holiday season is emotionally stressful for many people, especially children. When students are overwhelmed and don't have the words to communicate, crying may be the only way they have to express their feelings.  #socialemotionallearning #WellnessWednesday #WalworthJ1

Our "Golden Moments" are so incredibly special in Ms. Boldger's kindergarten class when the "grandmas" arrive. Mrs. Chris Lynch, of the Golden Years (Walworth, WI) Retirement/Assisted Living Center brought 5 wonderful ladies November 20th. We made bracelets, painted, collaborated ideas, read stories, and played. We are so grateful for this intergenerational program and look forward to the next time we are together. #WalworthGoldenMoments #WeLoveWalworth #WalworthJ1

Mrs. Hummel's junior kindergarten class enjoyed a special visit from Mrs, Becky Merwin, their wonderful Rotary Reader. She read The Gingerbread Man and The Gingerbread Baby to the class. The infamous story of "Charlotte's Web" inspired much learning in Ms. Boldger's kindergarten class this fall. Each day for several weeks, a chapter was read, and insightful discussions about friendships and farm life, captivated each child. Imagine the EXCITEMENT when a "miracle" would take place when sight words would mysteriously appear in the web above Simba's habitat. The ending of the story was bittersweet but what joy to receive copies of this book to read with our grown ups at home!!! We delighted in the day when we gave Wilber a buttermilk bath and prepared and ate buttermilk pancakes. Our posters filled with sight words will be an interactive learning board at home and we are thrilled to continue our journey with these beloved friends, Charlotte and Wilber. 🐖🕷🕸 #earlychildhoodeducation #WalworthJ1

November's character trait was DETERMINATION. The students pictured demonstrate this trait. These students try their very best every day. They do not give up immediately and always try hard to finish a task. Way to go Wildcats! The Character Committee (C2) is sponsoring a monthly Character Trait Award to recognize students who exemplify the trait of the month. The students are nominated by their teachers and recognized with an award that is displayed in the school. #WalworthProud #WalworthJ1
