Last Friday, junior kindergarten students went to Royal Oaks Apple Orchard. The students enjoyed completing an apple maze, picking apples, riding on wagons to the pumpkin patch, and playing on the fun playground. Students also enjoyed seeing the animals at the petting zoo and tasting the yummy apple cider donuts! 🍏🍎

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿?
“As an educator, I have a passion for high quality education and programming. Therefore, I believe the best thing about being a Board member is being able to assist in the development of policies and decisions that can have a direct impact on the education of our elementary and middle school students in Walworth.”

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵?
“I am a small-town guy who grew up in a town roughly the same size as Walworth. I really enjoy the small-town community-focused atmosphere that is Walworth.”

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱?
“When I first was appointed to the board, my children were all members of the school district. Currently, two of the four have moved on to Big Foot High School. With that being said, I wanted to serve on the board because I believe I bring a valuable and unique voice to our board. I am a lifelong educator; I am employed at the high school our students will transition to; I have children who are attending the school; and I've lived in the community for 13 years. With my voice, I wanted to be able to help guide the district to educate our children in the best way possible within the confines of our restrictive budget.”

Students are learning about the Shelter procedure in the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) from the “I Love U Guys” Foundation. A Shelter is called when specific protective actions are needed based on a threat or hazard. Some threats include such as tornadoes, earthquakes, hazardous materials situations, or other local threats.

Practicing helps everyone feel prepared and safe. 💜💛
