The Walworth first graders were invited to the Village of Walworth’s Tree Lighting Ceremony earlier this month. Although the weather was a little frightful, the students' afternoon was filled with Christmas caroling, crafts, stories, and a visit with Santa. The students all cheered as the village tree was lit. Thank you to the Village of Walworth, the Walworth Police Department, the Walworth Fire/Rescue Department, and to Kristi Reierson for organizing this special event. What a great way to kick off this holiday season! 🎅🎄🎅🎄

The Walworth 3rd Graders continued the tradition of caroling their way to the post office to mail their letters to Santa. Business owners stepped out to wave and Ms. Michelle, the former post master, met them for a mini tour and generous gift bags for each child. It was a warm fuzzy kind of morning! ❤️🎅💚🎄❤️

The Middle School Band and Choir Concert (5th-8th grade) is TONIGHT, December 20th at 6:30 PM. The students, Ms. Task, and Ms. Budill have been working very hard and can't wait to perform for you. Students need to arrive at 6:00 and enter by the cafeteria door (2B). All band students should grab their instruments and cases and report to their respective rooms which are as follows: 5th Grade - Choir Room, 6th Grade - Mezzanine, and 7th & 8th graders should stay in the band room. Any Choir kids that are not in band should report directly to their rooms. Please don't arrive any earlier because the doors will be locked until 6:00.

For guidance class, our seventh graders enjoyed a day learning about Gateway Technical College, the admissions process, associate degrees, etc. This aligns with our school's implementation of ACP (Academic and Career Planning) program. Students are encouraged to explore more about their interests, learn about career possibilities, post high school education, etc. We learned about a variety of careers in IT, manufacturing, health sciences, and public safety. It's never too early to start thinking about your future! Thank you Gateway for opening your campus to our students! #WalworthJ1

✂️Holiday Haircuts✂️
All students and their siblings are invited for a free haircut at Big Foot High School on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Professional stylists will be on hand to cut hair, no appointment necessary. Enter through the east doors or by the band room and follow the signs to the make-up room. Refreshments and a gift bag are included with each haircut. Please come with clean hair as we do not have a way to wash hair. ✂️

Today is the last day to order poinsettias! The Music Department is holding its annual poinsettia sale to decorate the stage for the holiday concerts and to raise money for class and instrument needs. Poinsettias are $15 each. Please note in the comments what color poinsettia you are ordering (Red, Red with a light dusting of Silver glitter spray, and Red with a light dusting of Gold glitter spray).
