For over 40 years, a festive holiday treat has been delivered to Walworth School, spreading a little extra holiday cheer. The wonderful Sharon Aasen, our former school nurse, continues this tradition even though many of her former coworkers are no longer there. Thank you, Sharon—your kindness and holiday treat was enjoyed by all! 💚❤️

🔥 8th Grade Language Arts Spotlight! 🔥
On Friday, December 5, our 8th graders jumped into a fast-paced speed debate exploring a big question from Frankenstein: Should Victor have created a second creature—or stopped after the first?
Students dug into the text, uncovered compelling evidence, and went head-to-head with thoughtful, persuasive arguments. 💬📚 Their hard work showed off not only strong reading and reasoning skills, but also the essentials of effective debate.
Way to go, Wildcats! 👏💡

It was a magical morning for the Walworth 3rd graders as they caroled their way to and from the Walworth Post Office to mail their letters to Santa. Local residents honked and waved as the students passed by the beautifully decorated square. Former postmaster Ms. Michele Gronke played the role of a generous elf, surprising the children with gifts and delightfully reading them a Christmas story! 🌲🎅🌲

Walworth’s present and past 3rd graders are so grateful to former postmaster Ms. Michele Gronke for her continued generosity. Each year, she helps the students mail their letters to Santa and provides each child with a wonderful gift bag filled with holiday treasures. The bags included art supplies, a holiday blanket, a cup, a stuffie, and a fun activity book. We are so thankful for her ongoing kindness and generosity—she truly makes the holiday season magical for our students. 🎅🎄🎅

The 6th grade students have been learning all about what our local firefighters, police officers, and EMS teams do every day to keep our community safe. After seeing how much responsibility these jobs hold, they wanted to do something to say thank you! 🚓🚒🚑
Students brought in donations, collected cans from home and around the school, and cashed them in to help put together some goodie bags. They also wrote handwritten thank-you notes to include with each one.
Last week, they delivered the bags to our amazing first responders.❤️

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Immanuel United Church of Christ Walworth Sewing Club for the beautiful donation of comfort quilts for our students this holiday season. Each Wednesday morning, this dedicated group gathers to create their handmade “Comfort Quilts,” sharing warmth and kindness with our community.
This year, an incredible 43 quilts were created through the hard work and dedication of just four individuals. Each quilt was stitched with care and filled with warmth, reflecting countless hours of thoughtful craftsmanship. These special quilts were generously shared with the Walworth School District, the local food pantry, and Tree House Child and Family Center, bringing comfort to children and families throughout our community.
Each quilt reminds our students they are supported, valued, and surrounded by people who care deeply for them. We are truly grateful for your generosity, compassion, and remarkable commitment to serving others.

While working on the CKLA unit, Different Lands, Similar Stories, the students compared and contrasted the 3 stories: Tom Thumb from England, Thumbelina from Denmark, and Issun Boshi from Japan, with main characters that are one-inch tall. The students were able to use their creativity to create a one-inch-tall character and a house for them. The students did a fantastic job on their special projects.
