On September 21, Walworth County HOPE Squad members attended a training and team-building field trip at Covenant Harbor!

Students worked together to tackle obstacles, solve challenges, strengthen their communication skills, and build connections with fellow HOPE Squad members. Along the way, plenty of great memories were made!

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to collaborate with HOPE Squad members from schools throughout our area, including Sharon, Fontana, Elkhorn, Delavan, Whitewater, and Lake Geneva. We are grateful for the chance to come together, learn from one another, and strengthen HOPE Squad across our communities. 💛

A big thank you to Covenant Harbor for hosting us again and providing such a great experience for our students! 💜💛

Our 4th graders celebrated Dot Day by learning what it means to “Make Your Mark!” 🎨✨ Students created their own unique dots, using their creativity to turn a simple dot into something completely their own. Just like their artwork, we talked about how every student brings something special to our classroom—their ideas, talents, kindness, and personality all leave a mark! 🔴🟡🔵⚪️ #DotDay #WalworthJ1

For the past two weeks, our students have been watching short safety videos from the “I Love U Guys” Foundation, which explain the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) that we use in our school. These videos are designed to help students understand what to do in different situations (such as Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter) in a calm, age-appropriate way.
We want to ensure our students know the steps to take to stay safe, while also reassuring them that practicing these procedures helps everyone be prepared. Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep our school community safe.

Students are learning about the Shelter procedure in the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) from the “I Love U Guys” Foundation. A Shelter is called when specific protective actions are needed based on a threat or hazard. Some threats include tornadoes, earthquakes, hazardous materials situations, or other local threats.
Practicing helps everyone feel prepared and safe. 💜💛
