Our administration, teachers, and staff are dedicated to the students’ education and well-being. In a time of so much volatility, it is refreshing to see people giving of themselves as it is the right thing to do.”

“Honestly, I first ran for the school board because I was asked to by Kelly Freeman, former board president. Her and the administrator at the time thought I had a lot to offer. I thought, really?!?. I was a mother of 5 who hadn't used any of my 3 degrees in years because I had been home with kids and working as a bartender/waitress. What could I possibly bring to the table? I didn't make it my first run at it, I lost by a handful of votes. I then lost pregnancy #6 at 18 weeks. I went through a rough time. Months later, an election came up again, and I thought, let's get back to life. I am a person of service, and giving makes me feel fulfilled. I ran. I won. And I'm still here. Now it's a passion of mine. I just want Walworth to be a great place to teach and learn for ALL!”

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿?
“As an educator, I have a passion for high quality education and programming. Therefore, I believe the best thing about being a Board member is being able to assist in the development of policies and decisions that can have a direct impact on the education of our elementary and middle school students in Walworth.”
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵?
“I am a small-town guy who grew up in a town roughly the same size as Walworth. I really enjoy the small-town community-focused atmosphere that is Walworth.”
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱?
“When I first was appointed to the board, my children were all members of the school district. Currently, two of the four have moved on to Big Foot High School. With that being said, I wanted to serve on the board because I believe I bring a valuable and unique voice to our board. I am a lifelong educator; I am employed at the high school our students will transition to; I have children who are attending the school; and I've lived in the community for 13 years. With my voice, I wanted to be able to help guide the district to educate our children in the best way possible within the confines of our restrictive budget.”

Thanks to your generosity and support, our students have explored new places, created lasting memories, and brought classroom lessons to life in the real world. Whether it was museums, zoos, theaters, or outdoor adventures—you made it happen!
We are so grateful for your partnership in learning beyond the classroom. 💜💛
