First grade celebrated the end of their knowledge unit on Ancient Egypt by having Egyptian Day! Students decorated their own pharaoh headdresses, made pharaoh jewelry, and we even had a pharaoh parade through other classrooms. What a way to celebrate our learning!

Miss Gleeson's class kicked off their new Knowledge unit by making maize (corn) out of pipe cleaners and beads. Maize was the most important crop grown by the Mayans, which is the civilization we are learning about!

In ELA the 3rd graders are learning about Light and Sound. They enjoyed their experiment using materials and lab notes while predicting and reporting about how light travels through some materials, but not others. #WalworthJ1

Last week Mr. Hummel kicked off the inline skating unit for students in 5th through 8th grades during gym class. This program was able to continue due to the generosity of the Big Foot Lions Club, Exemplar Financial, O'Neillz Automotive, Geneva Lake West Rotary Club, and Walworth Jt. District #1. The students of Walworth School are so grateful to have this wonderful tradition continue for many years to come.

The Walworth first graders were invited to the Village of Walworth’s Tree Lighting Ceremony earlier this month. Although the weather was a little frightful, the students' afternoon was filled with Christmas caroling, crafts, stories, and a visit with Santa. The students all cheered as the village tree was lit. Thank you to the Village of Walworth, the Walworth Police Department, the Walworth Fire/Rescue Department, and to Kristi Reierson for organizing this special event. What a great way to kick off this holiday season! 🎅🎄🎅🎄
