Over 1,800 schools and youth-focused nonprofits across the country have been awarded paint since the program’s inception in 2009, covering over 21 million square feet of learning space. In honor of Memorial Day, the Kindergarten students attended a flag presentation given by Mr. Kahl a member Ingalls-Koeppen American Legion Post 102 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2373. Mr. Kahl talked with the children about flag etiquette, what the stars and stripes signify, and how to fold the flag. Each child was also presented with their very own flag to keep! A special thank you to Mr. Kahl for this meaningful and important lesson.
