On Memoria Day, Mr Kahl and AJ Hartman presented Memorial Day roll call of our community’s fallen servicemen and the veterans from our community that passed away this year. AJ Hartman then played Taps. They presented at Cobblestone, Brick Church, and Walworth cemeteries as well as in Reid Park on Fontana’s lakefront. 🇺🇸

Congratulations Ivan and Camila! This brother and sister duo earned entry into the 1,000 Point Club in Reading Counts. Students earn points by reading books and taking quizzes. Ivan, a fourth grader, earned most of his points during first, second and third grade and finished up a few points this past fall. Camila, a second grader, just finished earning her 1,000 points. Mrs. Wenzel dropped off the awards at their house. Everyone is very proud of their efforts! To take a Reading Counts Test at home visit the Walworth wepage and click on the "Students" tab. Keep on reading! 📚

Atentamente,
Phill Klamm
Administrador Interino del Distrito Escolar

SUBJECT: State Supreme Court ruling will not affect school closures
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On Wednesday, the Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down Governor Tony Evers' stay-at-home order. While restrictions on businesses and gatherings have been lifted for the time being, the ruling does not affect current school closures in the state.
To that end, the Walworth Jt. School District #1 will remain closed for the remainder of the school year. We are consulting with the Walworth County Department of Health regarding how the ruling may affect other district programming and events in the future.
We encourage our students and families to continue practicing social distancing and adhere to the guidelines provided by the CDC and other entities. It is expected that the governor and legislature will release a new plan for businesses and gatherings soon.
Thank you for your attention to this communication.
Sincerely,
Phill Klamm
Interim District Administrator

Callie, Grade 6
Callie has always been very interested in caring for animals, and has enjoyed caring for chickens and goats at home. She cares for the chickens on a daily basis while being home, and decided she wanted to try and hatch some chicks. The eggs need at least 21 days in the incubator to hatch, and today is day 22! So far she has had 17 chicks hatch 12 hours, and there are many more to come. We are waiting for 28 more eggs to hatch into baby chicks!
We would love to see what other Walworth students are doing! Please submit write-up and pictures to social.media@walworth.k12.wi.us to be featured on our social media pages.
