The Elementary Music Concert (2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 4th Grade) will be TOMORROW, December 19 at 6:00 PM. The students and Mrs. Budill have been working very hard and can't wait to perform for you. Students need to arrive at 5:40 and enter by the cafeteria door. Please don't arrive any earlier. Students are encouraged to dress in festive clothes.

Congratulations to this week's Paw Print winners. Students receive a Paw Print for working hard, making good choices, and making Walworth a great school. On Fridays, students who have earned a Paw Print are entered into a drawing. Way to go, Wildcats!🐾

The Walworth 3rd graders carrolled their way to the local post office where former postmaster Ms. Michele Gronke helped them mail their letters to Santa. She also sent them on their way with a generous gift for each child! It was a magical day!

Students studied the Human Body Systems in ELA. As a fun hands-on activity students in Mrs. Fieweger's class, completed 6 tasks to become "certified" doctors as part of an Escape Room Challenge. This took collaboration, communication, perseverance, and time. Students worked on completing tasks related to each body system and earned a badge. Once all 6 badges were earned, they became certified doctors!

This year, the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade music department will be raising money to fund future field trips by building community and spreading holiday cheer through their gift of singing.
How a singing telegram works:
1. Complete the telegram order form and submit $10 using eFunds link below.
2. The week of December 16th, each choir will spend their class with Mrs. Budill completing all purchased telegrams.
3. Choirs will make phone calls to sing a song to each telegram recipient and wish them a happy holiday.
4. If the recipient does not answer their phone, a voicemail will be left.

Miss Chorneyko and Mrs. Valenti's 2nd grade classes wrapped up their second Knowledge Unit on Early Asian Civilizations by having students write their own names using Chinese characters. They also made Diwali lanterns which symbolize prosperity in the new year. They wore red to represent good luck and honor the Chinese New Year.

Yesterday, Walworth students participated in Lions Kidsight USA, an annual vision screening provided by the Lions Club. The Big Foot Lions Club volunteers screened over 400 Walworth students' vision! Thank you Lions Club for your continued support of our school!

Walworth Jt. District #1 and the 7th/8th grade student council is partnering with area schools and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to Hunt Off Hunger! Tomorrow, December 6th is the last day to donate unexpired nonperishable food. Items collected will be shared with local community shelters and food pantries.

This week the Walworth first graders were invited to the Village of Walworth’s Tree Lighting ceremony. Although the weather was a little frightful, the students' afternoon was filled with Christmas caroling, crafts, stories, and a visit with Santa. The students all cheered as the village tree was lit. Thank you to the Village of Walworth, the Walworth Police Department, and the Walworth Fire/Rescue for organizing this special event. What a great way to kick off this holiday season! 🎅🎄🎅🎄

Ms. Koltes and Mrs. Janney’s kindergarteners were so thankful to have the 8th grade guidance classes and Hope Squad members help create their "Countdown to Christmas" chains. The students also enjoyed listening to Christmas music and reading Christmas stories together! What a great way to start the holiday season!
