Students in junior kindergarten through second grade are certainly enjoying weekly nutrition classes with Miss Priscilla and Miss Lisa. We appreciate having the opportunity to partner with UW-Extension in order to provide this wonderful experience for our students. Here are a few pictures of Mrs. Janney and Miss Koltes' kindergarten students learning about My Plate.

Something AMAZING happened in Junior Kindergarten! We have been reading books about "mittens" and learning all about winter, animals, snow, and concepts including hibernation, camouflage, and how to stay warm.
We were SURPRISED by "anonymously" receiving dozens of BEAUTIFUL mittens handmade especially for our 43 junior kindergarten boys and girls. It is like we have our very own "Mitten FAIRY" in Walworth....Actually, we do!
Thank you so much Mitten Fairy! We are incredibly appreciative and grateful! ❄️🧤❄️

First grade celebrated the end of their knowledge unit on Ancient Egypt by having Egyptian Day! Students decorated their own pharaoh headdresses, made pharaoh jewelry, and we even had a pharaoh parade through other classrooms. What a way to celebrate our learning!

Miss Gleeson's class kicked off their new Knowledge unit by making maize (corn) out of pipe cleaners and beads. Maize was the most important crop grown by the Mayans, which is the civilization we are learning about!
