Students are learning about the Hold step in the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) from the “I Love U Guys” Foundation. During a Hold, students stay in their classrooms and continue learning while hallways remain clear. Practicing helps everyone feel prepared and safe. 💜💛

The second parent workshop is tomorrow, September 22nd, from 5:30-6:30 PM at the Walworth Memorial Library. There will be free childcare and pizza. This event is hosted by Reek School and Lake Geneva Psychology. Navigating a Social World that Never Sleeps, by Amy Sosa, PsyD, CEDS of Lake Geneva Psychology: This presentation is designed for caregivers of middle-high school students and provides education on the effects of social media on brain development, attention, self-esteem, & emotional regulation. Participants will receive helpful strategies in setting boundaries & working together to help children regulate phone use. #WalworthJ1

​This week and next, our students will be watching short safety videos from the “I Love U Guys” Foundation, which explain the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) that we use in our school. These videos are designed to help students understand what to do in different situations (such as Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter) in a calm, age-appropriate way.

We want to ensure our students know the steps to take to stay safe, while also reassuring them that practicing these procedures helps everyone be prepared. Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep our school community safe.
