Mrs. Hajewski's sixth graders practiced writing with similes, metaphors, and imagery in acrostic poems. Each student used their desk as a canvas. (Don't worry; dry erase marks can be wiped off of the desks!) #WalworthJ1

During the month of February, we celebrated "Diversity" in Guidance class. Students in JK-4th grade boarded a plane and traveled to Hungary, Brazil, Iceland, Thailand, and Mexico. Through the use of technology and "good old fashioned imagination," our adventures were fantastic! From climbing a pyramid in Chichen Itza to swimming in the Blue Lagoon and taking a helicopter ride for great aerial views of geysers, our adventures were priceless! Our country visits also included the students either being able to try native food from that country or making a project. Our goal is for students to understand themselves and appreciate the diverse backgrounds and experiences of others. Spread acceptance, tolerance and kindness! #WalworthJ1
